Just yesterday I got an email from a guy who seemed pretty pissed off at the world.
He wanted to know why lousy trainers earn more money. This isn’t the first time I’ve been asked this question.
Like I said, judging by the tone of his email I’d say this trainer was pretty upset at the world because trainers who were “younger” and “less qualified” than him (his words) were attracting more clients and earning more money.
“It’s just unfair” (his words again).
Here’s how I see it.
Since when did age become a factor in success anyway? We’re living in the information age where you can purchase years of knowledge in a matter of weeks.
Information is speed and speed of implementation is success.
And who says greater education and more certifications entitle one to more clients and greater security and profitability?
The truth is that the better trainer does not always get the most clients, the most pay, or the most celebrity.
The better marketer does.
To me, the “lousy” trainer has greater diversified knowledge – not only in the technical arena of hands on training but also in the entrepreneurial arena of knowing who his market is and how to get them to pay, stay, and refer.
And ultimately it all boils down to that, doesn’t it?
I’ll see you in a couple of days with more ideas, tips and strategies to help you crush your competitors.
