Using Craigslist to Generate Leads

Last week I shared with you several creative ways to give yourself a raise without spending more time in the gym, studio, or the client’s home. This week I’m going to show you how Nick Irons, one of our Hitech Trainer members and brilliant fitness marketer uses craigs list to generate website traffic and clients for no cost.

If you don’t know about, its basically a website where you can post or search for products or services in your city or within your county. But the cool thing about Craigs list is that it gets millions of people to it every month and I’ve found that it really indexes well on search engines.

Before I show you the EXACT posting that Nick uses to drive traffic to his website, I should tell you a few insider tips about posting on craigs list.

1.    You can’t post the same ad in more than one geographic location. The solution? Change your subject/headline and tweak your copy.
2.    You have several choices of where to post. The best results for fitness related services come from “therapeutic services”and “sporting goods”sections.
3.    Always add city specifically key words and your website URL. Both will increase search engine indexing.

So without further ado – – here’s what works for Nick Irons:

The title: I Can Get You In Shape!

My name is Nick Irons. I am a personal trainer in Montgomery County, Maryland, Washington DC, and northern Virginia.
Why work with me?

Bottom line, you will feel better and see results quickly (and so will you spouse, partner, friends and co-workers). I can help start you on the road to success in achieving your fitness goals, and motivate you to go further than you ever thought possible.

When you work with me, you get:

•A Nationally Recognized Endurance Athlete
I made history when I swam 1,550 miles down the Mississippi River—from Minneapolis to Baton Rouge—becoming the first person in seventy years to swim North America’s longest waterway. I followed my swim with a five month, 10,000-mile bike tour around the perimeter of the United States.

•A Nationally Certified Personal Trainer
I am a Certified Strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The CSCS certification is required for all strength and conditioning jobs with college and Professional sports teams.

•A Personal Trainer Who Cares
I am excited and energized as a trainer in seeing the success and happiness of my clients. I will do whatever it takes to make sure my clients are happy.

•A Personal Trainer Who Will Learn About You
I am not a screamer or a drill sergeant. I get to know you personally and learn what I have to do to motive you to achieve your fitness goals.

•A Personal Trainer Who Makes Exercise Fun
I make exercise fun, because if you’re not enjoying your workouts, you’ll quit. When you work with me, you’ll smile and laugh, you’ll never look at your watch, and you’ll wonder where the time went.
