    Without a substantial advertising budget, do not try to start a bootcamp and quit your day job people.

    Bootcamps are better than 1 on 1′s, cheaper, and less whining from clients. Ugh.

    Nice vid Bedros. Some day you should do a video on what it would really take financially for people to start a business as you describe.

    Its my opinion that business is not an easy task especially in the fitness service industry right now, Feb 2009.

    Thanks

    Great video Bedros.

    You broke that down beautifully and it just makes since.

    It’s just takes the hustle factor.

    hi
    I can’t comprehend why a personal trainer/fitness pro would NOT be running group training or bootcamps/fitcamps at this point in time! It’s not necessary to hire another trainer right off the bat of coarse.
    Excellent point on multiple streams of income…as I always say…”the more poles in the water the better”

    Bedros,

    Great video mate

    @Derek… How much would it REALLY cost to start a bootcamp?

    WordPress Blog = Free

    Ning = Free

    referrals from current clients = Free

    Gift Certificates for Bootcamp = Almost Free

    Bootcamp in a Park = Free

    Equipment = Free (Do bodyweight exercises or get THEM to buy dumbbells)

    Granted it may be wise to keep some stability with your “day job” but how much can it really cost to start a bootcamp?

    Yes the economy is down… wouldn’t that mean people would rather pay 20 dollars an hour as opposed to 70 or 80?

    @Donovan Owens… dude you thoughts?

    Thanks again Bedros

    Adam, you’re right on money! Instead of finding EXCUSES why you CAN’T you should looks for reasons why you CAN.

    Thanks for commenting all!

    Just a comment, depending on where you live Bootcamps in a park are definitely NOT FREE! I will spend over $5000. a month just to run 2 Bootcamps….I will run over 13 this spring…
    Its thousands of dollars for permits, in Calgary I know for a fact if you do not have a permit you will be getting a HEFTY FINE!

    If your Bootcamps are run properly , participants will see great results, they do not need to train one on one with a trainer, that is the beauty of Bootcamps. Bootcamps are a great way for clients to train with Certified trainers for a fraction of the cost of one on one training. This is the YEAR for people to PUT THEIR HEALTH FIRST, I plan on doubling what I made last year… it can happen..!

    Hi Bedros,

    This was an awesome video, but one thing I’m unsure on is how to find the time to run the “backend” website that provides continuity income from the info products. Seems like this would be a huge task in and of itself (I assume we’re talking about providing a steady stream of articles, ebooks, teleseminars, videos and more via this backend site, which all takes a lot of time to do on a consistent basis). If we’re busy training as well, how do we find time to do this? Is there a way to make it more efficient? I don’t really like the idea of spending the majority of my time writing posts and stuff, is that the only option for these backend services? Could we perhaps outsource the work?

    Your thoughts are appreciated!
