Awesome stuff, Bedros! After reading a lot of your stuff, I’ve been adding more 30 minutes sessions and even making more of my time by doing semi-private sessions. Thanks again for all the info!
Greg Porter (Krunchies Health & Fitness- Australia) @ 10:20 pm
Great report bedros - keep it coming - and when ya coming to australia??????
Wow - this is really nice, I like how you packaged this report.
Point 3 is practically screaming for me to become one bad-ass Fitness blogger and create a cult-like following of bootcamp clients…
Tim @ 11:11 pm
Bedros,
Once again you hit the nail on the head! By the way, I love the photos of fat people. Canada isn’t on that level yet, but we are catching up FAST!
Keep the great content coming!
Tim
Right on the money BrothA!
Shawn @ 11:43 pm
The social media thing is totally true.
I see so many people wasting all their time on Twitter and Facebook saying that they are “working” but even the people that do make money with it, they make very little ROI and could make a ton more by writing articles or making videos or doing pretty much anything else.
However, I’m not sure if it was right for you to lump in Youtube with those other sites. You can use Youtube and other video sharing sites to get clients. But it should be used in conjunction with other methods, not on it’s own.
That’s my opinion anyway.
The other stuff I totally agree with you.
Shawn
moe sims @ 11:53 pm
Very inspiring! As always thanks for the info
Hey Bedros~
Thanks for the article and way to point out where you see the future of fitness. Group training is the way of the future but if there’s a rich and famous person who wants to pay you $150 an hour then take the money!
But 60 minute sessions absolutely suck at leveraging your time. Out with the old, in with the new!
Killer report Brotha.
Again thanks for over delivering and telling it like it is.
steve Hochman @ 5:37 am
Holly S#%T bro… That was the most insane report I’ve ever read… You could have easily sold that sucker big bucks…
Seriously, you’ve taken it to the next level bro…
No wonder you are the undisputed KING of the fitness jungle!
Rock on!
S
Hey Bedros
Awesome report! It’s very worrying to see how many people are eating themselves to death… It’s not just in the US but most part of the world. Yet sometimes logic does not prevail. Some people rather spend more money on junk food and bigger clothes than their health. Where’s the logic?
BTW, I totally with you that 1 hour personal training is dead.
Great report…very interesting to hear your opinion on healthcare!…..small group training and bootcamps have already proven to be the way to go NOW…as wellas as 30 min sessions as opposed to hour sessions.Again great info
Awesome insight!!! Thanks for sharing this.
Becky Fox @ 7:45 am
Great report and definitely great information!
Straight to the point and brutally honest…I love it!
Thanks for giving this report. I’m shifting people to EFT and it’s working so much better!
Greg Jasnikowski @ 9:09 am
Sad but true….and try to approach someone like the ones on the pictures in the report. They say… Why don’t you take a picture of me? It will last longer…
This country suffers BIG TIME.
Every time I hear the man saying we are the strongest nation in the World…..I say.. Sure aha, I see it every day at the gym.
5 minutes warm up sends people to Emergency Rooms b/c they either are so out of shape or have no clue about nutrition and show up to their 5 pm workout session on EMPTY STOMACH. cause they want to lose weight. You can only train those who want to be trained so find out what you are really good at and promote yourself to those who would like what YOU got. AMEN

nice post bro
Ben at Train For Top Dollar @ 9:34 am
Theoretically, you COULD get paid less if health insurance covers personal training. But at the same time, imagine if none of your clients right now KNEW how much you were charging, and didn’t care, since they weren’t the ones paying. That’s our current health care model.
Thanks Bedros!! You have a knack, you know! You are helping me find my niche!
Blessings,
Donna
Lawrence Carroll @ 9:52 am
Terrific stuff here Bedros. You have hit some critical nails on the head and make a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing your insights again.
Justin blum @ 10:02 am
Bedros,
This is prime info man .. You killed it with this stuff and group training is defintky the future.. I agree with Josh, it’s hard to find but if you have someone who will pay you that kinda dough go for it.. And blogging baby !!!!! Do it!!
jill @ 10:37 am
Thank you! Great post. I currently work at a gym and we have seen drop-off of one-on-one training, yet fitness classes have exploded, so I think this proves your point.
I love this industry because we are constantly challenged in figuring out the latest trends in order to continue serving clientele.
Right on Bedros, as usual!
Alicia Streger @ 11:31 am
Love your perspective. Always great info…Thanks Bedros!
Big J @ 11:33 am
Bedros, awesome as always your the man.
I would have to agree with your wife about taking the pics that way.
Louise Petkov @ 12:30 pm
Sedentary living, inferior quality food and the social acceptance of being “overweight” all contribute to the obesity epidemic in America. I am an anthropologist (medical) and personal trainer and have done a lot of research on this issue. We are burning about 3 times fewer calories on a daily basis than we were 50 years ago. That equates to the equivalent of calories expended in a 16 km walk by one report I read. Shocking? Absolutely. Look at the children and you can see the potential growth of our industry and see that it is only through group training and fitness classes that we will be able to reach the VAST number of individuals who NEED our services. I say NEED because it IS a life or early death issue at this point. I think our role as educators will need to expand because social acceptance of obesity is becoming more tolerant and I don’t know what else will change the tide. Will offering free programs on the state of the health of our nation and fitness this be one of the major ways to get clients in the future? I’d like your opinion on this aspect: will education and motivation programs become a larger part of growing our businesses? I’d like to thank you, Bedros, and “the guys” for all the advice and programs you have offered. We need it, we are paying attention and appreciate your efforts.
Jason Pegg @ 1:17 pm
bedros,
Thats good stuff. Thank you for sharing!

Feel good reading this as I have the facilities to make a lot of these ideas happen - I do a little 1-2-1 but lots of group training but LOVE the idea of smaller groups too. Ignited and ready to plan it all out on paper tomorrow! Oh - and I think Fb etc over rated - am actually trying to avoid overselling on there now as it bores me when others do. Just as useful to demo to others that you do have a life too! Never twitter. Thanks for the post - and sharing it all.
Thanks Bedros i actually hate facebook and twitter, im a more of a talker, ability to talk to anyone anywhere and anytime. this has generate loads of client over the year of course with your great advice. i follow your ideas religiously and you are a genius to figure all this out. my buisness wouldnt have increase this year without your blog .
Belton @ 2:51 pm
BEdros OR Nostradamus of Fitness? Great Post. Thank you once again!

Aussie Mick @ 5:22 pm
‘Aussie Bedros’,
not a truer word spoken. Awesome report, can’t believe you gave it away. Every word you say makes sense and is on the money.
Again thanks for being at the forefront of the fitness industry.
‘Aussie Mick’
I like it. short to the point with great points to take action on. Cheers to you and your great marketing.
Martin @ 5:38 pm
If social media is such crap, why do run an incredible amount of ads on facebook?
Martin, just like I said in the report… social media - really Facebook - is good for running paid ads (like i teach in http://FitnessMarketingManifesto.com) but if you think you can hang out on facebook all day posting comments, images, taking surveys, IQ and EQ bullshit and stuff like that then you’re wasting a ton of valuable time.
It takes me 10 minutes to manages my facebook account. That includes tracking my pay per click ads and replying to comments.
Heck 90% of my facebook emails are taken care of by my assistance.

Thanks & keep it coming,

Tim from Australia @ 8:07 pm
Bedros, once again you have hit the nail on the head.
I am phasing out 60minute sessions from early next year and then moving towards more group training, have also moved into the small group training / bootcamp side of things and see so much potential for growth and business domination. I have never been more confident of positioning myself as THE local fitness and fatloss expert in my area.
Thank you for providing reports like this, you assist all of us in staying ahead of most in the industry.
Ha ha Aussie Bedros …. I like that.
B
Scott Williams @ 8:52 pm
Great Report Bedros and you are correct in all areas. The people that really want to make a difference in teir lives will pay the money they will not wait for the government support.
This is a place we really do not want to rely on cause as Bedros says it will make our work much more difficult and time consuming…
Also the group sessions are definately the way to go, and since returning from Orlando this is the only way we offer training and have moved others into group sessions and it is working beautifully for us.
Scotty from Kangaroo Land
Great Blog Bedros! Feels good to know I can count on you for this info. so i don’t waste time and money like the old days! I remember finding out about the wheel only to see a Ferrari pass me by! No More!
JJ Robertson
B - that was some awesome sh*t!
You GET it!
I still get tons of e mails from aspiring trainers who are very confused and man, even for the “in the trenches” trainer this clears sh*t up.
NICE!

As a clinician, I can totally testify to the fact that you DO NOT want to have to deal with insurance. Insurance is a pain in the Alpha Sugar Sugar. My new restorative medicine/anti-aging practice will be cash/credit only no insurace. And my husband will have his PT studio attached to the medical clinic. Cash, no insurance. People that are willing to pay out of pocket are more motivated. I see 20 patients per day at my weight loss clinic (I only work there one day per week). Most of them are very motivated and are having tremendous success. People will pay for what they want/value.
AlbeRRRto @ 5:03 am
Dude i havent even read it yet and I am geeked up about it.
Dan Kennedy @ 8:36 am
I was approved two years ago to bill insurance for approved reasons as a trainer by Principal Insurance (including obesity). They gave my a ICD-9 code (it was a Physical Therapy code even though I am a cscs) and everything. Biggest headache ever to deal with. If that is how I did my training I might be able to see 4 a day even though I have a billing person I still had a bunch of paperwork. You have to track a lot of stuff and fax the doctor everything. Needless to say I and our hospital stopped this about two months later because in the end it is not very profitable.
Bedros hits it all on the head again. All my trainers will be req. to read this today!
James Patterson @ 10:40 am
Awesome report Bedros! I’ve been with you about a year now, and honestly the tips and strategies have not only helped build my business but also continue to get keep me excited about the service we provide. Thanks for your passion.
Dale @ 1:56 pm
Bedros,
Great report, very accurate and stuff i needed to read today.
Thanks
Michael @ 7:04 pm
That was a really good article. However, I have one question: how do you decide on your niche? Basing it on what?
I do a lot of work with old people, but they don’t generally have any spare money.I used to be an actor, but, except for the famous ones, they don’t have much money either.
I live in the centre of London, and although that should potentially supply me with a vast amount of potential clients, I don’t really know where to begin.
I know I’m not stupid ,but I can’t see the wood for the trees.Any suggestions?
Al Gavaldon @ 11:48 am
Good points Bedros. EFS is smart with 6-12 month committments. Information and being trusted is highly important. Ethics and professionalism is a must.
Morton @ 6:02 am
So Bedros,
Why did you remove my comment asking if social media is such a waste why are you advertising so much on facebook?
Is it because my reply wasn’t butt kissing?
Morton, dude, first off I didn’t remove your comment. I’m guessing it either went into the spam catcher or you’re Martin (another comment on here) which I did appprove and reply who I love BUYING ads on facebook but all other forms of “marketing” on facebook are a waste of time for fitness trainers (compared to what you could be doing.)
Here’s that comment and my reply again:
Martin @ 5:38 pm
If social media is such crap, why do run an incredible amount of ads on facebook?
Bedros @ 6:55 pm
Martin, just like I said in the report… social media - really Facebook - is good for running paid ads (like i teach in http://FitnessMarketingManifesto.com) but if you think you can hang out on facebook all day posting comments, images, taking surveys, IQ and EQ bullshit and stuff like that then you’re wasting a ton of valuable time.

Great report Bedros. Good insight on the fitness business.
Aja Davis @ 4:45 pm
Great Stuff. It’s funny how really, it all boils down to the age old get people to know, like and trust you. This takes time, but i’m starting to see it’s worth it!
JR-Aspiring Personal Trainer @ 12:49 pm
Thanks Bedros!
All of your e-mails I have printed out and I put them in a 3 ring binder for future use. I plan on opening up a studio and I am so excited. I will buy your course because you obviously know what you are writing about. Other individuals would charge thousands of $$$$ for the free advice you give. I can’t thank you enough! When anyone ever tries to deter me from going into this business-I TUNE THEM OUT!!! I know this business is a very lucrative business and for me, I want to do this because I truly want to help individuals look and feel better. I have been working out for 28 years now. I am now 42 and I easily look like I am in my late twenties. There is no magic pill or magic diet. The fountain of youth is Fitness & Nutrition.PERIOD!!
Thanks again & God Bless!

isidoro Nieves @ 7:18 am
Thanks Bedros: It’s an excellent report that puts anyone in perspective of what the future most be, I’m working to start a Kettlebell fitness business here in Puerto Rico, what of your products do you recommend?
Take care
James Bond @ 9:46 am
I have read the report and I agree with it.
In the UK there are exercise on prescription schemes run by local authorities. They pay peanuts and its just not worth it. I am worth at least £25 per hour ($50) but these schemes pay a fraction of that and the paperwork is ridiculous.
Brien Shamp @ 5:10 pm
Great stuff Bedros. I have been doing more 30 min sessions since I went to Fitness Summit. The response has been great for me and my trainers. Looking forward to starting the Fit Body Boot Camp in January. I am also going to be Sports Performance Boot Camps for athletes.
Thank you.

Bedros,
As always great stuff. Technically, I’m not even in your industry. But, what you have to say applies to what I do. I get more down to earth results producing information from you than most of the people in my own industry. I live close let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
