Why The Successful Are The Way They Are

Posted on October 5, 2009 By Bedros

Had a blast trying to break the land speed record in this Lamborgini

I hope you’re doing awesome!

I just got back from a four day road rally with some of the top internet and direct response marketers in the world.

And I gotta say… I had a blast!

Sure, driving fast exotics cars was cool…

and stopping at all the coolest places along the California coast was neat…

and hanging out with other like minded and driven entrepreneurs was really awesome.

B-U-T the thing that I really enjoyed most was the Young Entrepreneurs meeting we had Saturday morning. It was a great opportunity to give back.

Imagine a conference room full of 13-16 year olds. All there by CHOICE. Ready and eager to learn from all of us on the panel.

After some Q and A with the kids we broke them up into groups of three and each of us took and group and helped them create a business plan.

Then the group with the best business idea won $500 to fund their idea.

It was so amazing to see these young kids “get it”.

But the reason for this blog post is to help you understand why some people are super successful and they did to get there.

Here are some key behaviors and characteristics that successful people share…

I hope you this gave you some perspective to help you reach whatever level of success that you want in life.

Margarite @ 12:48 pm

Hey Bedros,

Margarite here ~ You might remember me from my question on your daily activities and recently being brand new on your team when it comes to utilizing some of your services to us; but, i’ve been following you up for sometime now. Well, two things I wanted to share with you right now:
(1) You really kick a.. with your stories, personality and really having learned how to enjoy life and believe it or not you’ve rubbed on my already similar characteristics. I mean, you really encourage and help me keep going. Thanks a bunch for that. I’m always having a ball with your stories like the one you put up here today :)
(2)I see that you really do enjoy fast and nice cars. If you also enjoy old American nostalgic ones, then you’ve got to know about the Bakersfield Reunion coming up. It’s cool, It’s Big and It’s one of very few worldwide. I mean there are people coming from other countries to be at that one ~ celebrating speed, looks, art and just good’ol car times… Are you going to be there? I think you’ll enjoy it a lot. If you go, let me know, I’ld love to meet you there, chat a bit and especially introduce you with my husband, another car super-freak!

Good post and great times man - I know you came away with a lot from it - just hanging with people more successful than yourself is powerful in itself, beyond anything specific you learn out of it. Can’t wait to hear more about it -
(ps - did Paul Mitchell give you something to help manage your hair?)

Hi Bedros, God that sounds like so much fun. That is a great bunch of information. When we started our FBBC, Israel and i had that same conversation, don’t be afraid. We roll played on some issues and talked about it. The next day he signed 3 HB. It works. Thanks for sharing this, it was awesome to read about it…………tom

NIIIIICE Bruddah Bedros…. the more success I achieve the more I realize it’s majority mindset.

I see the same in those who are super successful as well.

They had an undying belief and often found the help of others if they were msising skills or parts to make their dreams a reality.

I can’t get enough of the mind set stuff, it is the key to growth and massive success!

c u soon bruddah!

Kamal @ 1:40 pm

Hi, Bedros.

I totally believe in what you are saying. My problem is, fear and anxiety control my life. I operate out the the fear mindset, not the confidence mindset. How do I stop letting fear control my life?

Thanks a lot,
Kamal

Lisa @ 1:41 pm

Adam Toohey @ 2:37 pm

Bedros… awesome stuff mate! You obviously had a killer time and wow 4 days with that bunch of people is priceless.

@Kamal if I may offer a little support?

You mention Fear and Anxiety control your life… You have built them up to be these HUGE Monsters yet they are nothing more than states and/or feelings.

And who chooses those feelings at any given moment? You do of course… we all do.

The real problem is you want so much to get away from your Fear and Anxiety yet those feelings are all you are focusing on. Look at the language you use “Fear and Anxiety control my life” .. that’s a huge statement and one that is paralyzing you in your efforts.

Whenever you feel fearful or anxious all you are simply doing is running a particular pattern of behaviour… to change it you need to interrupt the pattern.

How?

When you sense you are becoming fearful or anxious… do something totally radical to change first of all your state and by that I mean the state of your mind and your body.

When you get scared I guarantee you are not standing tall, breathing deep, feeling strong, ready to take on the world… and yet it’s not that difficult to do that…

So how do you change it? something radical… ie. Beat Your Chest and Scream Like Tarzan…

Go to the nearest Mirror and take a good look at yourself in that moment.. and CHANGE what you see. Stand Tall, Eyes Up, Breathe Strong, Chest Out…

Now some of it may sound silly… but what would you prefer… being paralyzed and feeling like you have no control over your life.. or being a little silly for just a moment?

You MUST .. when you are feeling fearful or anxious and you want to get out of it… you must remember a time when you were totally confident.. remember a specific time… and then feel the feelings of being totally confident

I have no doubt it’s in you! Why? Because in your comment you are totally confident that fear and anxiety control your life…

Is this making sense?

Hey if you need anything or if there’s any way I can help shoot me an email

[email protected]

I’m sure Bedros has some great feedback too

Oh.. also check out Steve’s post on becoming fearless… visualisation is extremely powerful in helping you overcome this

Let me know if I can help

Nice to see that we can continue to learn new things no matter how much we know or how successful we become. Also nice to see some of the top dogs giving back and inspiring young professionals. Love it.

I agree! Yes, it is true, you can only receive in the same measure of your capacity to give. That is a priceless bit of Wisdom, in addition to the rest!

c.f. Ecclesiastes 11:1-6

I will keep that all in mind this week.

Thanks!
