Financial Constipation And Three Other Reason Why Most People Repel Success
** Quick side note before you dive into this post…
I’ve been getting a lot of emails from people wanting to know when I’m going to open up the Fitness Marketing Manifesto.
I don’t have plans to open it up anytime soon, but when I do I’ll be sure to let you know ☺
Okay, the first time I heard the words “financial constipation” was from a guy who makes half a billion a year. I was sitting across from him in a very HIGH LEVEL mastermind program called the 25K group. (bet you can guess why they call it that).
Anyhow, I can’t tell you who he is, or for that matter who any of the other high level movers and shakers in the 25K mastermind are - but I can tell you that you many have heard of or seen some of these business elites on TV.
But this post isn’t about them. It’s about the four reasons why most people repel success.
1. Financial constipation…
Say that out loud to yourself. The word picture is clear, isn’t it?
I don’t know a single successful cheap person. I know of a bunch of frugal successful people… but that’s different.
Frugal is being smart with your money. For example: the wealthy or successful don’t buy boats and wave runners. Nope. We rent them, enjoy them, and give’em back. That’s being frugal… smart with your money.
Being cheap or financially constipated means you don’t invest the money needed to further your education in wealth creation.
for example; the financially constipated don’t go to seminars - they feel it’s too expensive. Instead they miss out on the information and the opportunity to network with others who can help double and even triple their income.
They’re too cheap to buy info products. Instead they waste time, money and effort trying to ‘figure it out’ on their own.
They don’t get coaching or mentoring from others who have been there, done that and know how to get there faster. Instead they jump from opportunity to opportunity losing more money because they don’t understand the difference between an investment and an expense.
Like I said… that’s the fastest way to repel success.
Here are three other ways to repel success.
2. Buy things and don’t apply them
This one is CRAZY. I know so many people who buy info products on how to get rich or whatever and never even crack the darn book or DVD case open.
Then there’s the dude who buys the info product, reads it and stops there. Sure he knows the information… but that it.
Knowing information is not the same as learning. See, learning is a CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR. Easy, right?
3. The thoughts that occupy your mind
What you feed your subconscious mind is what it will manifest.
You’re brain doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined (I should know I was part of a study funded by NASA about 13 years ago that proved it).
If you spend all day focusing on how you don’t want more bills, and that you can’t handle more bills then your subconscious mind finds ways to get more bills. That’s what occupied your mind most.
Other mental cancers that force you to repel success are thoughts of doubt, fear and negative self-talk… again they force your subconscious to manifest the thoughts that you think about and feel the most.
4. The people you surround yourself and associate with.
If you haven’t read my hatters and crabs post yet you should. Basically, your level of wealth and success is determined by the level of wealth and success of the five people you hang out with the most.
The good new is that there are the ONLY four reasons why people repel success. That means if any of these apply to you (even if all four do)… just reverse them.
Let me know what you think below ☺

Bedros, you are so cool, cute and cracked me up so badly this morning with this post
You are RIGHT ON! Financially constipated? How in heavens could you come up with this? I can only imaging
LOL….And why hasn’t anybody else thought of it that way? But sooo true ~ I can’t stop laughing, we’re cracking up over here buddy ~ thanks for this and everything else you put out…

Great post! #2) learning is a change in behavior — that’s powerful.

Bedros,
In the the past I’ve been so guilty of #1 & 3. I even have “I did it my way” tatooed on my arm. Some times doing it your own way doesn’t work. If I would’ve learned then when I knew now it would have saved me thousands of dollar’s business wise.
One thing I always tell other trainers it’s one thing to want something but you have to believe it will happen. If you believe it you can def achieve it.
Ah Bedros,
Good to have you “back”. LOL..you were busy there with the FBBC Launch!
Excellent post and I’m still trying to work through my “FEARS”. I know that it’s held me back for years, but I’m pushing forward thanks to all of the great tools you and others have provided.
Happy Day!

Great Stuff! I think I need to increase my fiber (actions-right thinking)and rid myself of the toxins that are holding me back!
Thanks for your great info.
Mike
Ha - Bedros, the first time you told me about that FINANCIAL CONSTIPATION stuff I just had to crack up - but I have to call that the number one thing holding people back. It’s so funny when people will see the right thing in front of them, they know they’re not happy, and they know they want a way out, but they’re just too constipated to do anything about -
And what’s worse is these guys are the biggest haters and complainers - I guess it’s ironic, but some people will never change.
Crazy post by the way - excellent stuff -

bedros,
excellent post as always!
too many people out thereare their own worst enemy and self-destruct with too much “negative self talk”. it’s the number one thing in my mind that will prevent people from capturing their dreams.
think positive!

Bedros,
Another great post. I’ve been guilty of all 4 points at one time or antoher.

Always good to read things like this and I also think it is important to follow and listen to successful people both in and out of your industry like Bedros!

Good post Bedros. I need to work on #1 and 2…and I guess I could hang around with more movers and shakers so yeah #4 as well.
Thanks Bedros.
Aaron @ 3:53 pm
I like the information you give us Bedros. That’s probably why I keep buying stuff from you

Good stuff. I needed that! Yesterday I was financially constipated and my own self imposed fears kept me from doing something I wanted to do on July 29th!
Good post.

“Applying things” was a weakness of mind but not since Fitness Business Summit 09. Even in the slower summer months my business is progressing and I’m doing less of the training and spending more time working “on” my business. If you can’t get motivated listening to people like Cable, Vince, Valerie, etc., you better consider finding a new profession.
Great post, Bedros. It’s definitely one of my favortite ones! Your frugal vs. cheap example was right on the money. Recently, I’ve transitioned from being cheap and not investing in learning and growing my business to being frugal and being smart about my business. I’ve invested in some of your products, Kaiser’s products, and some of Brian Devlin’s stuff. You guys are truly an inspiration is my drive to become successful. Awesome post!
John Verd @ 11:07 pm
Sooo right you are! It’s good to get this reinforcement- I’m just starting my second read of “Think and Grow Rich” and that’s exactly what my buddy NH talks about.
What you feed your subconscious mind is what it will manifest. This is something I have to do myself. I have think and grow rich, great book, in that book Hill goes into this. Think that goes back to #2 do not apply.
Wealth is within my reach, just take it

Great article, and you’re dead right about #3.
The BIGGEST one’s are not surrounding yourself with other successful, like minded people and NOT investing in a mentor.
I have found those 2 be HUGE in my success
Good jobby job B!

Funny how the simplest things can be the difference between moving forward towards great success or staying in one place and feeling like the world is out to get you.
Thoughts are a terrible thing to waste!
Thanks for the insight and the reminder.

Your quote “What you feed your subconscious mind is what it will manifest.” is absolutely true that is why it is important to feed your subconscious with the positive but realistic that within reach so you can imply it in the real world. I truly enjoyed this mind setting article. Thank you.

Great post Bedros!
I just recently found your blog and I’ve been reading all the articles! Awesome stuff and thanks for putting it out there for everyone to get their hands on. Have fun in Austin this week, it’s a great city!

Bedros, where’s the info on the Fitness Info Summit October in Orlando? You’re killing me, man! Great interview in Craig’s OSP newsletter by the way.

Great post Bedros,
I feel vindicated after reading your post on financial constipation et al. Even as I’m cash strapped while getting my boot camp business (a la Steve Hochman model) going, I’ve never turned away from investing in programs, education or products that will save me time by not having to reinvent the wheel when scripts and templates are already out there. When I purchased the Seven Figure Formula a month ago, $1000 was a lot of money that I didn’t have - but I believe in what you say and what others have said about their end results - the price is minimal in comparison to what I will make 3 months from now. Thanks for pushing us up.
