I Know Why You Aren’t a Success

Sure, I get it… you’re always busy… you just don’t have the time. DUH!

It’s not like you don’t want to make money, eat right, workout, and work on your inner game. You love the idea of working on yourself until you’re an overall better human being…

…But you have a life! You’re busy working; you have kids, bills and responsibility and you just don’t have time for that “betterment” stuff.

BULLSHIT!

You may have fooled others with that line, but you don’t fool me. I’ve been there myself and I’ve heard hundreds of others spin the same story. You’re fooling yourself.

‪#‎TruthTalk: Want to know the real reason why you don’t have time to better yourself? Because you aren’t making time. Because you haven’t made yourself, your business, your wellbeing, a priority.

But I get it: no one wants to come out and say “I just don’t care enough about my health, wealth, and mindset to make a change in my life.” So, rather than accept the fact that you’re copping out and being lazy, you make an excuse… time, situation, stress— whatever your latest excuse has been.

And then, when someone does finally give you a hand and provide better solutions for managing your time or situation, you reach into your back pocket and pull out that ol’ go to: your budget is too small.

You’ve got an answer for everything, don’t you?

What’s that? You don’t have time? Then make some.

Oh, you don’t have the capital? Here’s some advice: Get used to it! You deal with being under capitalized by working your f*cking ass off.

Truthfully, I’d respect you more if you were actually honest and just admitted that you don’t care enough to make this stuff a priority. But blaming time and your budget? That’s some Grade A bullshit, my friend.

Tell me this: do you honestly think you’re the ONLY one out there with kids, bills, multiple jobs and life problems?

REALITY CHECK! Welcome to life, man. It’s a constant struggle. It comes with a whole host of never ending problems and challenges. Problems that test your commitment, work ethic, desire and ability to cope with the crap that either makes or breaks you.

Row of barbells or dumbbells in the gymHere’s a perspective that can really change the way you deal with Life’s challenges: look at these problems like weights against your muscles. The more time you spend under tension the more your muscles develop and strengthen.

Your problems and challenges are the resistances that develop your mindset, character and work ethic. The outcome? Freedom, wealth, and happiness.

That’s the fact, jack! When you do the work that others don’t do, stick with it, and forge ahead no matter how thick the shit gets, you come out a winner— every time.

And the bumps, bruises, cuts and scabs that you’ll get along the way? Consider them your badges of honor. They’re the cost of evolution, freedom and becoming your best self.

You’re not the first person to have life problems. But if you accept the status quo then you’re joining the sea of mediocrity, the Average who stumble through life like drones in a constant state of desperation.

I don’t want that for you. I know you’re capable of more. But YOU gotta ditch the excuses and do the work. Grind it out. Make it a priority.

That’s what it boils down to, man. When you need time, you make it. When there’s extra work that needs doing, you do it.

This life your living is not a trial run, it’s the the real deal! So live it!

So where do we go from here? It’s easy to say “make time to better yourself” but how exactly should you make that happen?

1) Start by Cleaning Out Your Life

There’s two parts to this one. First, stop doing everything within your business that you shouldn’t be doing. Second, stop being lazy.

I guarantee there are hours and hours of your workday that are wasted. Now, I’m not saying that you aren’t working or that you aren’t working hard enough, but I am telling you that you’re wasting time on tasks you shouldn’t be touching with a 10-foot pole.

Your hand does not need to be in every single task that happens in your business. You don’t have to constantly check up on everyone and everything that doesn’t require your advanced business expertise. Let the staff handle it.

You should only be responsible for the things you do best. Other than that, areas where you’re alright or not great, need to be handled by someone else.

And outside of your business? I promise, there are hours you’re wasting throughout the week.

And before you say anything about how important it is to take breaks and relax, let me just say one thing: Millionaires don’t take breaks. ‘Nough said.

2) Watch Out for the Excuses

You know, I talk about the importance of sticking to what you do best, but there’s one thing at which every single one of us is incredibly adept: making excuses. Especially when it comes to making them to ourselves!

In milliseconds, I can come up with a dozen reasons why I should actually be sitting on my coach eating pizza rather than writing this article, but those reasons (while extremely convincing) are absolute lies!

We lie to ourselves all the time, justifying laziness and excusing ourselves from responsibilities. So watch out for that kind of thinking or it will sneak up on you and ruin your productivity.

It’s so easy (and satisfying!) to sit and do nothing and feel like you deserve it, but the truth is, unless you want to stay mediocre and never move past average, you don’t have that luxury.

Entrepreneurs don’t get excuses. They don’t get to take breaks. This is what you signed up for. If you want breaks then go get a normal job; you’ll get two Tens and a 30 minute lunch (they’ll even neuter you at no extra charge!). But if you want to keep your will to live and run your own business then stop making excuses for yourself.

Exhausted runner3) Accept it and Thrive off it

Take pride in your relentless work ethic. Get obsessed with learning and efficiency and mastery. Love the fact that you worked all night while everyone else was sleeping. Be proud of yourself, get pumped up by your successes, and become addicted to betterment.

Make this a part of who you are and you’ll dominate all those shmucks who aren’t willing to put in the work it takes to become the best.

Committed to your success,
