How to Reach Your Full Potential in Your Fitness Business

I’m going to tell you that you and me and German Shepherds have a lot in common.

“Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. What did you just say Bedros? I have something in common with a dog?”OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yeah.

You, me, and German Shepherds have a lot in common.

Here’s what I mean: I’ve got this beautiful dog. She weighs about 100 pounds. Her name is Cookie. She’s part German Shepherd and part American Mastiff.

Now here’s what we know about Cookie, and all German Shepherds for that matter: they require a routine.

If a German Shepherd does not have a daily routine, or a purpose, it starts to fall into a depression.

Very much like German Shepherd dogs, you and I require the same thing. Our purpose, our life’s work, our gift, is the thing that’s going to keep us going and keep us out of the depths of despair.

Do you understand that?

That’s why I say you and I have a lot in common with the German Shepherd, because believe it or not, if we are not living our life’s purpose, if we are not pursuing our true gift, then we’re going to eventually get depressed.

That’s when life becomes numb, and we begin to live an edited existence, if you know what I mean. I don’t want that for you.

How do you know what your life’s purpose is?

Odds are, if you listen closely and you look around, there’s probably something that you’re good at.

There’s probably something that you’re good at, that you might even be known for, that you have a great way of explaining to others.

There’s something that you just have this knack about, or maybe you’re not good at yet, but you have this desire, this thing that you would do for free to help people, or to create this product, or this service.

Whatever that thing is, that is your gift. That is your life’s purpose.

If you are not chasing it every single day, just like a German Shepherd would go out there and shepherd it’s little herd, if you’re not chasing your dreams every single day, then you’re going to fall into the state of depression.

Windup_alarm_clockMan, I’m telling you this. Every single day I wake up and with passion and with purpose I am chasing my dreams. It is a great life, and I want that for you.

For that to happen, you must get over the two things that typically cause the most amount of resistance in our pursuit of our life’s work.

Those two things are an external voice, and an internal voice. Let me tell you about that. It’s only two things, but it’s a lot of resistance, man, I’m telling you.

The First Kind of Resistance

The external voice is the people who are around you, and who are naysayers and haters, or just non-believers in your passion, and your purpose, and your gift.

They’re going to tell you that you’re not smart enough, you don’t have enough money, you’re not connected to the right people, you don’t have the right education, you just don’t have the information.

“How are you going to do this?” they ask. They don’t believe in you, and they transfer those feelings over to you.

The reality is, it’s not that they don’t believe in you. It’s that they don’t believe in themselves.

But because of that, they transfer those feelings over to you and everybody they meet. It’s because they’re toxic people. I want you to eliminate all those toxic people that you hang out with.

I’m telling you. They are crabs. They are energy vampires, and you don’t want that. Those people are all the external resistance that you’re going to deal with.

There’s another form of external resistance, and that is when you are on the pursuit of your passion or your purpose, and guess what happens?

Things get in the way. Maybe you’re going to run a Facebook ad or Facebook campaign, and suddenly Facebook shuts down your account.

Or Youtube shuts down your account.

Or that one connection that you were hoping to make with someone who was a connector in that industry, they decided to not to do business with you.

All those kinds of resistance are good. I like resistance back like that. You want that kind of resistance, and I’ll tell you why.

When you have resistance like that, that’s pressing against your passion, and your purpose, and your gift, you only get stronger and more resilient. That’s right, it’s no different than a muscle.

Think about this…

dumbell rackIf I grab a 30-pound dumbbell and I do 100 curls, before long that 30-pound dumbbell is going to seem light because my muscles are going to grow.

So then I’m going to grab a 40 pound dumbbell and do more curls, and before long my muscles grow.

Adversity is the resistance that your head and your heart are going to deal with, and they’re going to grow.

You’re going to become more resilient. You’re going to become stronger. You’re going to move faster with less resistance. That’s what you want.

Now that’s the second kind of resistance that happens, and that one I want you to work on because you can directly influence that right now, in this minute.

Are you ready for it?

The Second Kind of Resistance

It is the voices in your head.

You see, I believe we all have some kind of internal loop that’s playing in our head.

That internal loop could be, “I have a bad relationship with money. I’m not destined for success. I come from a blue collar family. Why would someone like me ever do well in life anyway?”

If that’s a negative self-talk loop that you have in your head, you’ve got to turn that thing off, man. You’ve got to turn on the positive self-talk.

Now listen, I’m no guru. I’m no woo-woo. I’m not saying, “Go hug a tree and pray to the stars.”

What I am telling you is, “You got to think highly of yourself. You are bad ass. You have a gift. You have life’s work. You have this purpose, and you got to share it with the world.”

For that to happen, you got to walk around like you’re a bad ass.  You got to tell yourself, “I’m a bad ass. There’s no one that does this better than me.”

If there is someone who does it better than you, your job is to do it better than them. See, that’s the way I see it. I have an obligation, and a duty to be the best motivator and business coach on the planet.

That is my goal. That is my personal mission. I will go to my deathbed doing that. Constantly striving for excellence in that.

If you can do that, and I know that you can, tell yourself, “I’m a bad ass.” You can have that positive self-talk in your head.

You’re a bad ass. You’re an achiever. You can dominate anything you put your mind to, and you constantly do that in your head.

If you keep telling yourself that, guess what? You soon manifest it in reality.

Before long people are paying you for that service or product or thing that you’re going to deliver. You’re going to have money. You’re going to have meaning.

At the end of the day, those are things that matter most, because money is a vehicle to freedom, and without meaning, all the money in the world is useless. I love you. I’ll see you later.

Committed to Your Success,

Bedros
