It's a lot easier to become a fitness high roller than you think. (...)

It's a lot easier to become a fitness high roller than you think.

It's true, the success of your personal training or boot camp business boils down to three simple concepts and that's it.

Seriously, you'd think that in order to have a six figure or even a multiple six figure generating fitness business you'd have to have a LOT of variables in action, but the truth is, it's all about a few significant factors and that's it.

In fact if you want a seven figure personal training or boot camp business the formula is the same. It's all about a getting these three significant things dialed in and that's it.

If you want proof of that then just look at my top three seven figure generating coaching clients. All three have these three significant things dialed in.

Saman (7 Figure Sam) Bakhtiar has it figured out.

Samantha (7 Figure SAMantha) Taylor has it figured out.

Cabel McElderry has it figured out.

Wanna know what these three factors are that they have figured out?

It's actually kinda simple. The only three ways to make more money from your fitness business are…

1. Get more clients

2. Get more money from each client

3. Raise your rates

That's its, these are the only three ways to make more money from your personal training or boot camp business. And when you automate and systematize this process then you put yourself in a position to make a lot of money and have a ton of freedom to enjoy it.

You might think that there are other ways to increase income in your business, but I guarantee you that they fall into one of the three categories above.

In fact, here are the top fifteen personal training marketing, business, and growth secrets that all of my six and seven figure generating coaching and mastermind clients use to blow it up.

1. Use direct response marketing and forget about "branding" or image advertising. See direct response is accountable marketing, you know when its working, and you know why it's working. And best of all it's designed to more people to action. I don't know if any other form of advertising that can do that.

2. Go for the low hanging fruit first. Every new coaching client I get is always interested in spending money on running huge postcard mailing campaigns or print ads in the newspaper. That stuff works and if done right it works great, but there are a ton of other marketing tactics that are low cost or no cost and are just as reliable, effective and lucrative.

- Consider my 21 Day Rapid Fat Loss promotion
- Steve Hochman's Human Billboard Elite method
- Facebook ad campaigns that push leads to a targeted squeeze pages
- The referral generation gift cards
- Targeted Craigslist ads
- The local body fat testing station
- Strategically located lead boxes
- Small group seminars with other local business owners who shares a similar client base

See, everyone of these low cost and no cost tactics above work like crazy. But they require one little thing… getting out of your comfort zone and actually getting out there and talking to people. It's a lot easier to hide behind your computer and feel productive, but these are the things that really work.

3. Use EFT or Auto Debit and STOP being a check chaser. Every trainer I know who has implemented EFT into his or her business has instantly increased client retention AND freed up more time to focus on marketing and selling instead of chasing checks.

Here's a post I did a few months back where I laid out how to set up Auto Debit in your fitness business.

4. Sell bigger, longer term results oriented programs. If you're selling single sessions, blocks of 10, 20, or 30 sessions, or only month to month programs then you're doing your clients a disservice and you're leaving a LOT of money on the table.

Wouldn't you agree that the average client needs more than a block of sessions or just a couple months of training to not only get results but to also develop the lifestyle and habit of exercising and eating right? Then ask for twelve month commitment or at the very least a six month commitment.

5. Leverage your time and make more money per session. If you're training clients one-on-one then the only way you can increase your revenue is by increasing your cost per session or cut your session times from 60 minutes down to 30 minutes. Or you can do one better and start training in groups where you can leverage time and the power of a group and generate a LOT MORE per session.

6. Sell other products and services that will increase results and add value to the lives of you existing clients.

7. Become a better closer. All the marketing and lead generation in the world means nothing if you can't convert that prospect into a paying client. If you want to instantly increase your income then learn how to close more sales and how to get more from every sale. You can see how it's done in the videos half way down on this page.

8. The fastest, easiest and most direct way to success is to model it. Don't try to recreate the wheel. Instead surround yourself with people who are already achieving what you want. Get coaching, buy into mastermind groups, and just model success.

9. If you're not building an email list of local prospects, clients, business owners, media contacts and past clients and actively emailing them awesome content that educates them, positions you and keeps you front of mind than I have to seriously question your sanity and desire to become successful. Look at every "guru" that you get an email from sending you to their blog, to their sales page, giving you content, and value. All this happens because they have a list and YOU'RE on it.

If you want to see how my coaching client, Lindsay Vastola used her email list to generate $25,000 in revenue from her boot camp then check out this killer post she did, and if you want to get the same fitness email marketing and newsletter technology that Lindsey and all of my coaching and mastermind clients use to grow their business then checkout FitProNewsletter.com.

So the bottom line is this, build a list, stay in touch with your list by mailing out killer content constantly, get them to know, like, and trust you and make them irresistible offers just like Lindsay does.

10. It's a game of mindset and mental toughness. If you're living in a state of fear, greed, scarcity, and self sabotage then watch this mindset reprogramming video on how to destroy procrastination and get into domination mindset.

Now it goes without saying that you have to be a bad ass trainer too. You gotta bring the energy, deliver the results as promised, and treat your BUSINESS like a BUSINESS and not a hobby or a job. Every single one of my mastermind members is business minded and not just job minded. If that's you, then the next sentence you read might be exactly what you need to take your fitness business to the next level.

How You Can Join My Elite Group Of Mastermind Members.

If you want to learn more about getting involved in one of my two masterminds groups (the Fitness Info Marketing group or the 7 Figure Formula group) then just shoot an email to my assistant Marilyn here: Marilyn@Keuilian.com and she'll ask you a few questions and if you qualify she'll send you an application.

I hope you got a lot from this post, if you did, leave me a comment below and let me know

Hey there, Bedros Keuilian here,
Hope you're doing awesome and that your personal training and bootcamp business is on fire! (...)

Hey there, Bedros Keuilian here,

Hope you're doing awesome and that your personal training and bootcamp business is on fire!

Recently I asked my good friend Craig Ballantyne why it is that some people take information and run with it, and others

seem to know more information than all of up put together, yet they're still struggling to make ends meet.

Here's what Craig had to say…

One of the more interesting parts of my day involves posting inspirational quotes on Facebook. Today, I posted this and it got a tremendous response. Here it is:

“Never let life get in the way of your progress. You gotta keep on pushing on. Accept the sacrifices and just do it!”

Just do it. Seriously, I made that up – I think it would make a nice tag line.

Now that is a very simple quote, and a straightforward lesson. Yet every day I hear from at least one fitness expert who says they still working on their fitness info product – 3 months after their previous email to me about how they were still working on their product.

I don’t know what’s holding them back, but Dan Kennedy, my mentor, and the mentor to the all the Internet Marketing gurus you hear about once told me, “The failure to act is much more often the product of inner, emotional resistance than external resistance. To move forward you must give up your story, whether it is excuses about your childhood, lack of education, your “bad luck”, your unsupportive family, your low metabolism, where you live, etc, etc.”

Harsh, but true.

What separates the leaders from the strugglers is often confidence and follow-through, both of which can be derailed by internal resistance.

Take a look at Joel Marion…he first contacted me for coaching in January of 2009. By April of 2009 he had broken the Clickbank record for a fitness launch and a year later, he’s crushing the MILLION dollar mark in 3 days – and he’s only selling a $67 e-book. There is NOTHING holding this guy back. No resistance whatsoever. He’s an action taker if there ever was one.

But if you’re struggling with confidence and follow through, Kennedy recommended a powerful, emotional, and yes, even difficult exercise.

All you have to do is simply ask yourself “Why do I want to achieve ____ but I refuse to act in congruence with achieving it?”

For example, let’s say you want to have a 6-figure internet business selling fitness e-books, yet you’ve taken more than 6 months to complete your product. Ask yourself why you are taking so long. Then ask yourself why at least 4 more times. By continuing to ask why and probing deeper you will get to the real answer and source of your internal resistance – and only then will you be able to overcome it.

Bedros here again,

I don't know about you, but anytime I've wanted something bad enough I got it. And it all started with me asking WHY and digging deeper into myself.

If you're ready to create your fitness info product and sell it online and want access to the same information that Joel Marion got then check out this program that Craig put out that has helped hundreds of people create and sell information products online.

Last weekend was spent in Las Vegas with Craig Ballantyne, Chris McCombs, Vince DelMonte, Steve Hochman, and 25 highly motivated fitness professionals who are on their way to becoming kick ass fitness info marketers.

We spent all of Friday and Saturday working with this elite mastermind group and helping them develop headlines, list building strategies, affiliate getting tactics, squeeze pages, product up sells, continuity funnels, and tactics to dominate their niche.

To say this group works hard is an understatement…

So I thought it would be a good idea to take them all out on Saturday night to one of the hottest night spots in Las Vegas, where snoop dogg just happened to be performing and just chill, let loose, and not think about business.

I also invited some friends who happen to be in LV for that weekend like 7 figure Sam and Nitin Chhoda who are both in my seven figure formula mastermind group, Justin Blum, from Las Vegas Fit Body Boot Camp and a few other high level info marketers.

Anyway, since what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas I’m not going to go into the details of the night… but I can tell you that there’s nothing more refreshing than working REALLY hard all weekend and then rewarding yourself with some good times.

In fact I got the email below from 7 Figure Sam just yesterday and I think it really sums up what I’m trying to say in this blog post.
******************************************
Hey B,

I want to thank you once again for being so generous and taking us out in Las Vegas.
To be honest with you I was a little worried since I’ve been known
to hit a club or two in my hay days and didn't want to do
anything crazy around you and other successful fitness entrepreneurs.

But the night was just awesome!

It was the funniest thing seeing a VIP hostess sales tactics with you.

You didn't care about any sales tactic, all you did was laugh it off
and made sure all 30+ of us got into club haze red carpet style with Snoop performing.

But I was sooo surprised to see how everyone just let their
hair down, loosened up and just had a great time.

OK, I do have a confession. I still hit the clubs in Vegas
here and there (I think everyone there figured that out) it's my
way of just letting loose and "refreshing" my mind
so that I can keep working hard.

Then it dawned on me. Every successful hard working
entrepreneur knows when you work hard you must play hard otherwise burnout is inevitable.

It's no different than working out. If you want to build your body
you don't work out 7 days a week. For maximum results you
workout hard while you are at the gym but the results will only
come from proper recovery and time away from the gym.

No wonder some of my best ideas usually come to me when
I am not working or at my desk.

I gotta say it was really cool to see that everyone in your mastermind group understands when to work hard and when to just let loose and party.

By the way I got a glimpse at the bill and let's just say
that bill was more than most personal trainers yearly
salary including mine not too distant years ago.

So thanks again!

Sam

Bedros here again,

I’m not saying you should go out and spend five figures on a night out. But what you should take away from this post and Sam’s email is that every highly successful person out there knows that the secret is to work really hard and focused and then take time off to just chill, get out of your routine, and hit the “reset” button.

It's the only way I know to avoid burnout and set your business up for super success.

Some other ways you can do that are:

Just going out to the book store and spending a couple hours roaming the isles.

Take a three day weekend from time to time and go on a long drive with a friends or family.

Do something outside of your daily routine like skydive, paint ball, rent a sports car for a day, go to a comedy club.

Take a random "unscheduled" day off and head to the beach, lake, desert, mountains, or where ever and just chill and disconnect from the matrix.

Or if you find yourself in Las Vegas… Call up “7 Figure Sam” and hit the most happening clubs with him for a weekend… if you dare.

The bottom line is that you gotta let loose from time to time. It's good for you. Life is short. Work hard, play hard.

And Speaking of "7 Figure Sam"…

Sam and I have been getting a bunch of calls and emails from trainers who want to know how he took his modest sized personal training studio to seven figures. Sure, while Sam's been a coaching client of mine for years, he's also an amazing inovator and action taker.

And since a bunch of you want to know how Sam runs his studio, gets his clients, pays his trainers, sell HUGE packages, retains clients for years, and dominates all of Chino and Chino Hills I thought I'd see if anyone would be interested **IF** I could hook up a weekend for 12-15 trainers to come out to Sam's Studio out here and spend the weekend with me and Sam and get his entire personal training studio secrets and how he took it to seven figures within just a couple of short years.

If you'd be interested in coming out to meet with me and Sam for a weekend and get the "behind the scenes" tour, systems, and tactics he's used to blow it up then let me know in the comment box below and I'll see if I could hook up a weekend with him.

- B

Here I am at Underground Online Seminar sharing some deep client getting tactics
I hope you’re doing good and that your personal training business is kicking butt. (...)

Here I am at Underground Online Seminar sharing some deep client getting tactics

I hope you’re doing good and that your personal training business is kicking butt.

This past Monday I was flying back to Chino Hills from D.C. – a pretty long flight. Thankfully there was onboard internet on the plane which meant I could go through my in box and take care of several coaching clients.

So I found my seat, sat down, said hi to the fella seated next to me… did the obligatory small talk… and logged onto the onboard internet.

And that’s when things got weird.

When I logged on and opened my emails the first site I looked at was Female Fat Loss Over Forty – which belongs to Shawna Kaminski, one of my 100K info mastermind group members.

I was reading through her copy and checking out the changes she made when my seatmate asked if I was doing some online shopping.

I explained that I was actually looking over a client’s site.

That’s when he asked what I do.
I said I’m a business and marketing coach for fitness professionals.

He asked what that meant.

I explained that I teach fitness trainers how to grow their business, market online and off line, and create wealth and freedom.

I think he kinda got that because he then asked what it was I was looking at.

I explained to him that Shawna is a personal trainer who has helped a bunch of 40 something year old women get fit and lose fat and now she’s written an ebook and sells her fitness and fat loss info to 40 something year old women online and that I helped her create her site, copy, offers, price points, up sells, blog, blah, blah, blah…

And I finished up by telling him that I think it’ amazing that people sell stuff online, even while they sleep and wake up and have more money in their bank accounts.

He explained how he had been unemployed the last 15 months and finally got a job again appraising heavy machinery and that something like that could never be taught online.

That’s when things got even weirder.

In an attempt to help, I went to google and showed him how there are over 6,000,000 searches on google for “how to appraise machinery” and different variations of that search term.

I explained that if someone (HINT: like him) wanted to, they could create a course for people who want to become machinery appraisers.

That’s when he said: “yeah, but you probably need web and computer skills to make money online and you probably went to school to learn that stuff.”

I explained that you can easily outsource the web and “computer” work – which is what I do and further more, I actually dropped out of college.

Then he said: Yeah but you probably need a lot of money to buy the video and editing gear to shoot the product.

I explained that we created a multiple six figure generating info product with only a $149 flip cam purchased from Best Buy.

That’s when he said: Yeah, but it probably takes a good amount of start up capital to get an online business going.”

And I explained that you can create a website, product, and get a paypal shopping cart all for under $400 and that the name of the game is a quality product, traffic and conversion.

Then he said: “With the economy the way it is it’s probably not a good time to start business because most people are not into spending money right now.”

I explained to him how money is always in motion and that every minutes of every day people are buying things they want and need. And in fact my buddy Craig Ballantyne recently told me about a fitness info product that launched and within the first week did over $300K.

Again he went on to tell me why it wouldn’t work for him.

Why it was bad timing.

Why people in his niche are different.

Why, why, why, why, why…

That’s when I realized that not matter what I said and no matter the proof I show he’ll continue to look for reason (excuses really) to justify his beliefs – no matter how warped.

And that’s when I remembered this quote from Tony Robbins: “Changing our belief systems is central to making any real and lasting change in our lives.”

It all boils down to mindset, desire, and action.

So far this cruise has been a blast. VEEEEERY relaxing. We're getting a ton of port time at a bunch of different places like Costa Rica, Aruba, Curacao, and Half Moon Cay.

Now I'm thinking about having a fitness marketing cruise sometime next year. You never know… I just might do it

But for now, check out this killer post from one of my 7 Figure Formula mastermind members and Fitness Business Summit 2010 presenter, Leanne Ellington.

I had the opportunity to sit in a room for hours on end with some of the most ingenious fitness marketers like Josh Carter, Craig Ballantyne, Vince DelMonte, 7 Figure Sam, and of course Bedros (just to name a few) for the entire weekend in beautiful Miami. Everytime we get together, I have several major breaking points– whether it's simply in my line of thinking or just in simple action steps I can go home and implement to explode my business.

Now don't get me wrong, it's priceless when you have 12 other marketing geniuses listening to your speedbumps, frustrations, and questions, and putting their minds together to help you come up with solutions, but some of my biggest "ah-ha" moments take place when I am simply listening to the other members in my mastermind– when we are talking about someone else's business.

So I decided to share with you some great little nuggets of info and "ah-ha" moments that took place in Miami this past weekend. Keep in mind I run boot camps in Orlando, but these points can apply to any fitness business that you may have.

1. Don't Forget to Sell Sell Sell. This one was the biggest for me. I have worked so hard to make sure I have a website that converts, qualified traffic getting to my site, building my list, and improving the quality of my program, that I forgot about one of the most golden methods of bringing people in the door and getting them hooked on my program—- selling to them in person! No website or phone script can sell my boot camps the way that I can- with passion and zest and UMPH! I realized that I need to physically get more people in front of me… Set, Show, CLOSE!! I simply went back to Bedros' How to Close 9 out of 10 Clients, and tweaked the sales script to model my current business. Voila!

** Bedros also reminded me that just because I train in groups, I still need to sell on the individual level. That advice was priceless.

2. Numbers Always Outrank Adjectives. Your business may be "killing it" or "crushing it" or just plain kicking ass, but what exactly does that mean? One thing I realized this past weekend is that I have no idea what my closing percentage is, because I haven't been tracking. I don't know my updated lifetime value of my clients, because I haven't been tracking. And I sure as hell don't know my specific cost to acquire a new client, because I haven't been tracking. Do you see a pattern here? Numbers don't lie. My clients want to see quantitative changes on the scale, in circumference measurements, and body fat percentages. They don't care as much if I just tell them that they look great– they want proof. Implement quantitative tracking in your biz and use that to assess whether or not you are reaching your goals. Then simply test, track and tweak.

3. Chunk Out Your Time Like a Mo' Fo'. How many times have you gone to complete a task and then found yourself magically looking at facebook, reading and returning emails, or updating yourself on whether Britney Spears is fat or skinny this week? Most entrepreneurs are like little kids in a way– we get fascinated and taken off course by the next shiny thing. One way to stay on track is to give yourself a track to stay on instead of haphazardly trying to get through a bunch of tasks in one day. Chunk out your day according to different tasks. One chunk might be geared towards emails and customer service. Another chunk might be content creation like blog posts and emails. You might have a chunk for your workouts or family time or whatever else you do in your day. The important thing is to set specific times for specific tasks and concentrate with laser focus on them all. Whoever said multi-tasking is the way to go was probably not very good at any one particular thing. Our minds are meant to focus on one thing at a time. Schedule your time and stick to it. You won't be sorry.

4. Have Kick-Ass Scripts for Everything. One way to systematize your business is to make sure that you are consistently doing it the same way every time. Heck, that might even be the definition- I'm not sure- but just roll with me for a minute. Wouldn't it be nice to have a strategic phone script, face-to-face script, and closing script that forces a bunch of "yes" answers, peels the onion, and overcomes objections like clockwork? Don't rely on your instincts– make scripts for everything.

5. Help Others Get What They Want, and You Will Get What You Want. — Brian Tracey. Nuff Said.

There it is… my little golden nuggets and takeaways from last week's 7 Figure Mastermind meeting in Miami. Some of the deeper stuff like secret ninja SEO tactics and and rapid lead monitization systems that Bedros shared I can't talk about here… those are strictly for "members only"

Leave a comment below and share your recent ah-ha moments…

Hey there… Bedros here,
Here's a killer post from Body Transformation Expert, West Hills Personal Trainer Josh Carter. I've known Josh for a long time. (...)

Hey there… Bedros here,

Here's a killer post from Body Transformation Expert, West Hills Personal Trainer Josh Carter. I've known Josh for a long time. In fact he first hired me for coaching four years ago – just before opening up his now famous "Carter Fitness Personal Training Studio."

He's also in my Seven Figure Formula mastermind group along side some other big names in the industry. Josh is a goal setter… and a goal achiever. And in this post he's gonna share with you how he sets and achieves goals.

**SIDE NOTE** Speaking of coaching, I'm officially shutting down my 12 month mentorship program for good. I've been blessed with more coaching clients than I ever anticipated (which is a good problem to have), however since I'm dedicating 2010 to the growth of Fit Body Boot Camp and my mastermind groups I don't want to take on new coaching clients several times each month because the learning curve is always the steepest in the beginning and requires a lot of my time.

So, I've decided to indefinitely close my 12 month mentorship program. HOWEVER, since I know there's probably a bunch of people sitting on the fence and were waiting to get on the program at some point, I want to give you the opportunity to get on board now.

I'm going to start one last group of mentorship clients this month and that's it… after that no one else can get on the program – ever.

So here's the deal…

On Friday, January 29th I'm closing the 12 month mentorship program and we're pulling down the site. But you can still get on board right now and be in the last group of coaching clients I take on (this is email and phone coaching where I help you take you're business and profits to the top in 12 months).

If you think you're interested, just go to 12 Month Mentorship, read all about the program and get on board.

That's all I gotta say about that

Josh Carter, take it away…

Ok, the title is a stretch.

I intended to imply that you should strive to reach your goal, and have the fortitude to persevere (the definition of “mettle”.)

You may have inferred, however, that Josh has lost it and can’t come up with a decent pun for a title.

So let’s just agree that implications and inferences aside you should get from that title what I meant to say and not necessarily what I said.

Agreed?

Moving on…

I have talked on my own blog about the importance of goals before, but given the time of year I thought I would revisit the topic and illustrate how you can use it for your personal and professional lives – plus your can share it with your clients.

Be a jerk, Josh says it’s cool

Goals are exceptionally important – and an effective tool for improvement in all areas when used properly. But conversely, goals can be as useless as a pile of turds.

For instance, “Maintenance” is a crappy goal. I really hate that one. High turd factor.

“Lose weight”, slightly better, but still not good enough to be called a goal in my book. Less turdish though.

For a goal to be truly effective and worth the paper you write it on (and you will) it needs to be a SMART goal.

Specific,
Measurable,
Achievable or Action-Oriented,
Realistic,
Time Bound

Clever right? (FYI – I did not come up with this, but it is very cool.)

It’s time to re-set your thinking.

So let’s break this down..

Specific
Saying you want to “lose weight” or “make more money” is too general. How much weight? How much money? It should be like this: “ I want to lose 20 pounds”, “I want to increase my income by $1000 per month”. Simple & specific.

Measurable
This should be covered at least in part by being specific. When you are specific you should be able to measure it. For example “ I want to appreciate my wife everyday” might seem specific, but how do you measure that? How about “I want to tell my wife I love her everyday” – that you can measure. (And if you forget she will remind you.)

Achievable or Action-Oriented
Achievable and Action oriented means there must be real steps you can take to reach that goal. Real steps that you know (or know you can find out). For example if your goal is to quit smoking, then there are real definable steps you can take to make that happen. For instance – Step one: Don’t smoke. Step 2: Freak out about Step one. Well, hopefully you would have better steps in mind.

Realistic
Be real. It has to be achievable. If you say “I want to make 100 million dollars this year” that might be specific, measurable, and there might even be steps to get you on that road, but please – realistic? I think not. (If it is, Hi, my name is Josh I would like to be your best friend).

Time Bound
This is a big one. Set a deadline. Going back to “I want to lose 20 lbs” – when? In a year? Next year? In the next 10 years? Set a deadline and stick to it. “I want to lose 20 pounds by March 1st.” Bing0 – now that’s a goal.

I recommend people ALWAYS have a goal. When you reach a goal make a new one.

Got one? THEN GET ONE!

Preferably a few. And though I am a fitness dude I generally have clients tell , me their fitness & health goals, this goal setting toll is not to be used exclusively for fitness goals. It can be related to all aspects of your life – financial, romantic, educational – whatever.

It can be insanely effective when creating professional / business building goals.

I have made a PDF for you guys to help you out. There is room for 4 goals, but write as many as you want so long as they follow the guidelines above.

Personal Goal Sheet

Right Click Here

It’s 2010 – time to get off your ass and take action. This goal sheet can serve as your “to-do” list.
