How to Find Your Passion Again (Plus Travel Notes)

As it turns out there’s more to growing a successful fitness business than just marketing, selling, and delivering great results.

In fact, there’s one other thing that’s significantly more important to building bigger profits and helping your business reach it’s FULL POTENTIAL in both impact to your community and personal satisfaction for you.

Let me explain…

Bright Lights in the Big Cities

In 72 hours, I hit two big cities in two different countries.toronto_001

I got to Toronto, Canadia on Wednesday afternoon where my good friend and publisher of Early To Rise, Craig Ballantyne and I took his mom out for a nice dinner at Jacob’s Steakhouse for her birthday.

Mama Ballantyne is such a sweet woman!

The next day in Toronto I ran a high performance mastermind for fitness pros who want to take their businesses from good to great by establishing domination in their respective fields of practice.

On Friday morning I was off to the Inside Fitness Magazine headquarters for a photo shoot and interview for an upcoming article they’re doing on me. As much as I enjoyed giving the interview…I had all types of anxieties about the photo shoot part.

See, I’m not a photo shoot kinda guy, and when the magazine commissions Arthur Arsenik, one of the top fitness photographers in the world, to shoot your photos, it’s kinda intimidating.

Truth be told, Arthur made the whole thing relatively quick and painless for me.

Off To New York!

That night, after the photo shoot and interview, I flew out to NYC where the next morning I brought the thunder to over 600 martial arts business owners at a seminar where I was the Keynote presenter.

Now that’s my element! On stage teaching higher level marketing, domination mindset and high performance thinking.

Coming Back Home

And as I write this, I’m back home in Southern California, tired but very satisfied with the trip.

While the trip was intense in travel, schedule and speaking demands, it’s what gives me energy and drives my passion – which is to help people become high performing and disciplined entrepreneurs who reach their full potential in impact and income.

Teaching the secrets to becoming a high performing entrepreneur and teaching market space domination is what’s “factory installed” for me.

It’s my purpose in life.

RocketSo I could do this stuff all day long and not feel drained, tired or rundown.

What I do for a living is like rocket fuel for me!

It’s funny how doing what you love can give you so much energy and drive, right?

And that was the topic of my talk yesterday during my Keynote presentation – “How to Live Your Passion and Dominate Your Path”.

After my talk I got a standing ovation – that was a first.

Then I did the ol’ meeting, greeting and taking pictures with folks.

During the meet and greet, one man, who had been in the martial arts business for 42 years, came up to me and thanked me for speaking so passionately about discipline.

He said he found it ironic that the martial arts industry will preach discipline to their students from the time they are children, yet the teachers themselves get complacent, out of shape, and lose the fire in their belly.

He was right. And the reality is that the same thing happens in our fitness industry, too.

Self-Assessment Time

Look around you. Are you operating at your higher level both personally and professionally?

Sure you’ve got your funnels set up and you’re building an email list and selling low barrier offers.

Sure, your business is doing better than it ever has.

But is it doing the best it could be? Have you reached your full potential in impact and income?

You’re still competing with other training studios, boot camps, and cross training boxes and I know that’s frustrating you and stressing you out.

Did you know that it actually takes more time, money and energy to compete than to dominate?

Kinda like sitting in a half squat position will exhaust you faster than just standing up straight.

So why aren’t you dominating?

What’s stopping you from CRUSHING IT so hard that everyone in your community knows that you’re a force to be reckoned with?revolution fist

Why haven’t you been able to create such a strong point of differentiation where everyone knows that you’re the absolute best at the type of training that you offer?

For most, it’s because the flames of passion have gotten snuffed out. Or maybe you’ve gotten complacent.

Maybe you’ve lost your clarity of purpose, vision and path.

It’s time to dig deep and find your passion again. You’ve got lives to change and a gift to share with the world.

Finding Your Passion Again

The thing I really want you to take away from all this is that the problem in your life is not outside circumstances.

Sure, outside circumstances can be annoying, and in the worst cases even pummeling, but if you follow the path of your passion you’ll discover that you have the resilience and the optimism to plow through anything.

I’ll admit: there was a time in my life where I would have seen all this travel and all this press stuff as an awful chore. If it happened back then, I would’ve had to slog through it all and I’d come home so tired that I’d need an entire week just to recover.

Instead, since I’m on the path of my passion, here I am back in the office, getting things done and absolutely PUMPED to host Fitness Business Summit 2016 this weekend!

If you’re feeling burned out or thinking of quitting, I want to get you right back on the path of your passion.

So first things first…

Get Specific

On paper, you should be already living your dream life. After all, you’re already working in the fitness industry, getting to work with other determined, hard-working professionals to change people’s lives!

…Except it doesn’t really work like that, does it? There are tons of crummy positions that are technically “in” the fitness industry that don’t give you the freedom, money and happiness that you want and deserve.

Odds are, you are in one of these positions right now. If you’re already working in the industry you love but still feel unsatisfied with your life, this is probably why (assuming it’s not some unrelated personal problem…although parts of your life are always more connected than you think…)

If this applies to you, here’s what you need to do change it:

Get What You Want Words Dart Board Target WinnerStart thinking very specifically about WHAT you love about fitness and WHY.

Do you picture yourself one day becoming a fitness celebrity, appearing all over talk shows and having people pin up your poster in their home gym for inspiration?

Or are you more into the technical side of things? Do you get excited by the idea of tuning the human body perfectly like a fine watch?

OR do you daydream of becoming a fitness entrepreneur, influencing the influencers and spreading your expert knowledge and products all across the country (even the globe!)?

Whatever the answer is, start making daily adjustments to your work and your lifestyle to specialize in the skills you’ll need to follow that path.

Like with so many other things in life, WHY is more important than HOW here. If you can feel the WHY deep in your gut, the HOW will come to you naturally (if you work for it).

Start Saving Money

This is something that you should be doing anyway, but it’s especially important if you want to forge your own path in your career.

Obviously there’s a practical component to this…but right now I really want to focus on the emotional side.

Speaking as a guy who spent most of his life NOT saving money, let me tell you how eye-opening it was for me when I finally could open up my savings account and see a neat stack of cash lying there…

You might think that saving money is for boring, cowardly people who don’t know how to live big, but having a flush savings account gave me just the opposite feeling; I saw all that money and became emboldened! I realized I could take so much bigger, more rewarding risks and not worry about losing everything!

See, here’s a little secret about successful entrepreneurs: we take bigger risks than 99% of the population ever will, but we almost NEVER risk everything. We always make sure we’ve got a reliable source of cash to fall back on, then we expand from there.

Now here I’m sure you’re thinking “Hey, I can’t start saving money, I barely make any money to begin with!”

So what you’re saying is, every single penny you receive goes straight to the basics: food, water, and shelter. Is that correct? You aren’t spending a penny of it on booze, or fancy supplements, or a flashy car, or expensive hobbies, right?

Yeah, most likely you do have enough money to save, you just don’t want to manage your money because you don’t want to give up your material comforts.

Buddy…

SAVE THAT STUFF FOR LATER. THESE ARE YOUR DREAMS WE’RE TALKING ABOUT!

Look, when you’re following the path of your passion, you’ll have WAY more time and money for all that extra stuff, but you gotta make sure you’re truly ON the path first!

And hey, one last thing…

Don’t Give Up

The ancient Romans had a saying…it went something like this: “A Roman is not defeated until he believes he is defeated.”

That was the attitude that took them from being a smoking pile of ruins to being the greatest empire on Earth…more than once!

The truth is that even doing what you love can get tiring, and life itself can throw some absolute knockout punches at you.

And at that point, there’s nothing more you can do than decide.

Decide that you’ve still got it.

Decide that you’re still in the game.

Decide that you still have power over your destiny.

Because as long as you decide you’ve still got it, you do.

Committed to your success,

Bedros
